We are currently recruiting for an Embedded Software Engineer. We think this role would suit an experienced engineer from a small to mid-sized company, but we would welcome candidates from any background who can show us how they can become an essential part of our team.

 

 Role Summary

  • Delivery of software design to requirements and delivered to plan in C
  • Design for test software development practices
  • Estimates work accurately and delivers on commitments
  • Working within company health and safety policies and procedures and supporting the Product Engineering Manager in delivering these across the department
  • Supporting the Product Engineering team to achieve deadlines and targets, and showing flexibility adapting to changing business priorities
  • Taking a proactive, overall solutions driven approach to work, to develop solutions to problems, supporting and flexing with other functions as required to deliver WOW!
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Able to read, understand and communicate through technical specifications and drawings
  • Capable of working in a small team developing and maintaining existing products as well as working on new projects
  • Sound theoretical of knowledge of software design, test and delivery in a commercial environment
  • Ability to accurately estimate work and deliver on commitments; able to plan and manage their own time

 

Desirable

  • Design of software that facilitates automation of regression, functional and unit testing of products
  • Type testing of products for compliance with EMC, Safety, mechanical and environmental standards
  • Experience of working with protection or control equipment that is powered by and has inputs and outputs operating at 100V dc and/or 230V ac
  • Experience of Scrum (or other agile approach) as a way of working and coordinating effort
  • Experience of developing drivers for Linux PC or embedded applications
  • Full UK driving license
